Tattoo booked but trying to conceive

I have been googling advice and getting a lot of mixed responses.
I have my tattoo booked however my husband and I were wanting to try to conceive. If successful according to my fertile days,I would be around 1-3 days pregnant so probably wouldn't even show up on a test.
Would it be safe and sensible to get the tattoo or would it be wiser to wait until I've had the tattoo to start trying ?

I'd wait til the next month if you are only just starting to try - I'm sure a tattoo would do zero harm but unless you've been trying for months there is no harm in waiting

Thanks I think it's more we had always said that month was when we would start trying until I realised getting tattooed isn't recommend so I was so mentally ready to start.

I’d say no, you can get foetal shock but that early on I’m not sure what would happen.

That being said we didn’t know we were pregnant and my bf tattooed me at about 5 weeks. He kept being mean as it wasn’t healing properly and he was angry I didn’t look after it. Obviously now we know I was pregnant and baby turned out just fine. He’s 5 months today and loving life xxx

Thank you good to know I had read that you can increase your risk of allergy to. It's 3 small tattoos all black and grey in the one sitting.

I’m in the same boat, I’ve booked a tiny tattoo for tomorrow so not sure whether to go ahead or not, I won’t be pregnant as haven’t ovulated yet but just concerned it could somehow have an effect on fertility!

EDSH · 02/09/2022 11:49

I doubt it would effect fertility I'm more concerned if it would cause miscarriage of birth defect

Anyone been on fexofenadine whilst pregnant GP sees little research for this and pregnancy. I was on 180mg but dosage has been put to 120mg whilst trying to concieve. I can't overly go off it as it's to control idiopathic anaphylaxis

I wouldn't

Just leave TTC until the following month - or the new year so that you can properly enjoy Christmas 😁

Sperm swim

I wouldn't. It's super rare but you could get an infection. Doctors avoid giving pregnant women a LOT of drugs because they can be dangerous to the fetus. I was given children's dose of paracetamol and in suppositories 😳 because it was safer for my very high fever

I’d been TTC for almost ten years and started to get tattooed. I would take a test the day before each appointment just in case but they’d always be negative. I last had two done in March and as usual negative test the day before. I was actually about two weeks pregnant but it was too early to show up on a test. As another poster has said it did make a difference to how they healed. I don’t think it had any negative impact on my baby as it was so early but had I known I would never have got them done.
