Will my lip piercing close over?

I’ve just managed to finally get my lip piercing out. How long will it take for the hole to disappear?

I'm not sure it ever will?
Unless you literally just had it done?
How long have you had the piercing?

I've had my ears pierced for years and have gone over a year before not wearing anything in them, I re pierced them in the end because although they had closed up inside so you couldn't push an earring through I had two very visible holes.

Had mine out for 10+ years now, the back is completely closed but still have the hole on the front of my lip.

You'll be left with a little circle of scar tissue.

Have tried to attach a photo of mine.

I take mine out for literally years at a time, and then put it back in - but I've had it done for 20 years 😁

What frostedviolets said, it’ll depend on how long you’ve had it done. It’ll probably heal up internally eventually but the external hole won’t necessarily disappear unless the piercing was recent.

I’ve retired two lip piercings, one I’d had for years and one which hadn’t fully heard before I changed my mind. The latter closed up quickly and although there’s a tiny external scar you’d only spot it if you knew it was there. The former has closed up internally but I’ve still got a very obvious, if shallow, “hole” on the outside.

I’ve had it around 5 years I’d say. I had it pierced before that but that must’ve closed over cos I got it repierced again but can’t really remember
