Where is inner upper arm on the pain scale?

Has anybody had the inside of the upper arm tattooed..? The area that some people like my gran would call bingo wings.
I've just sent an email to book in getting that area tattooed with what I suspect will be a rather large design but I'm actual quite nervous about it. I desperately want it done. I have been putting it of for years but now my arm looks strange without that bit completed and it's starting to bother me.
I have a fair few already, in fact I just counted, I have 11. I once did a day sitting on my upper arm but will freely admit I did not much enjoy it. The older I get the less tolerent of the pain I'm becoming. I think 4 hours might be my limit now. It won't be that bad will it? Any reassurance?

It was fine for me...I dont get bothered by tattooing until about 3 or 4hours in either and they start going back over bits. Then out stings a bit

*it

The worst bit was the inside of my elbow, the rest of my 'bingo wing' was fine!

iswhois · 04/01/2020 01:38

It was really sore for me.

WhatWouldJohnSay · 04/01/2020 01:38

Bingo wing was fine. Just like a cat scratch.

Not had my inner upper arm done, had my lower inner arm done, when it got to my wrist I would have welcomed childbirth again instead of the pain.
I've got several tattoos and I've never felt pain like it.

I'll be totally honest with you OP, for me personally inner upper arm was definitely a sharper pain for me than the tattoo i have at the top of my spine, but its not too horrible. Bit dicey on the outer edges, so close to your armpit or elbow, so i'd maybe recommend taking a quick 5 minute break before your artist starts on those parts if you are going to be sat there for hours. Happy tattooing!

Thank you everyone!
I have an inkling that this area might be a bit worse than normal but it's only going to be 3 hours as opposed to the 6 I was imagining in my head so hopefully it won't be too bad.
Also I agree with the pp about inner wrist tattoos. That suprised me. I wasn't expecting it to be that painful and it seemed to come out of nowhere.

It just felt like mild scratching there for me, the only part of the arm that was painful for me is the nobbly bit of bone on the outside of my wrist.

Dustarr73 · 13/01/2020 16:06

I thought it was really sore the skin is so thin there.

SouthernComforts · 13/01/2020 16:12

It's so different for everyone isn't it. I couldn't feel my inner wrist at all, I was chatting away and the tattooist had to tell me he'd finished.

My back over the kidneys on the other hand... ouch.

WeCameToDance · 15/01/2020 19:12

I did it. It took longer than I expected (around 4 hours) and it was not one of my more pleasant ones. However I love it very much and can’t wait for it to heal.

@WeCameToDance pics please

WeCameToDance · 15/01/2020 21:20

Dustarr73 I will add one to the photos of your tattoos thread in a bit. I do not suppose it will be everyone’s cup of tea though, it’s Dracula themed Grin

My most recent was inner upper arm as in bicep area and it was less painful than I thought it would be. Only 1 hour though.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 15/01/2020 21:25

I like Dracula! heads off to find Dustarr23's tattoo thread

I want to have a smallish one in the upper part of my inner elbow, IWSWIM? possibly with a quote going round my arm at that point. Does anyone have a pain scale to compare it to inner wrist? (I have one on each, one with slightly more ink in it - and aside of childbirth it's the most painful thing I've ever had)
