Hi OP.
The HFEA recently released their figures for 2018 which you may find helpful.

www.hfea.gov.uk/about-us/publications/research-and-data/fertility-treatment-2018-trends-and-figures/

Success rate over 40 remains stubbornly low, decreasing with the years, at 41your friend's chance if a live birth is about 11%.
Using donor eggs considerably increases the chance of a live birth for patients over 40.
NHS funding has reduced.

I'm not sure what the age limit is, I believe it varies with region but I fear your friend will not be eligible at her age.

Care Fertility are one of the big players in the fertility industry, and post their prices on their website. Prepare to be shocked.

Miracles do happen, but at a price. The woman who took this photo surrounded her baby with all the syringes and drugs she had used over repeated IVF attempts. Most women with a collection like that would have an empty canvass in the middle. I've no doubt the photographer regrets nothing but for those without a baby at the end that represents a world of pain.

Unlikely. Most nhs trusts stop treating after 42 and the smallest nhs waiting list one seen is 16 months. In my area you can self fund just shy of 3800 Fatima jump the queue
