I brought George to the vet this morning as ds had noticed that he had a 'boob' on his front leg. The vet said it was a tumor and although it could be taken off it probaby wasn't the most sensible thing to do seeing as he's already over 2. Also hamsters often don't do well with recovering with stitches because they nibble at them so often.
I've just told dd and ds and they're gutted. Well I didn't tell them he could be operated on because I don't think we're going to go down that road. I think I will give them a week to say their goodbyes and then have him put down. The vet said it would most likely grow pretty rapidly and then burst and he'd have to be put down then anyway.

I've put a pic of him with dd on my profile. sniff
