After a 4 year break.

This is Panda, she's a black hooded rex.

She has 2 siblings but they're hiding right now.

Panda is beautiful! I love Rex rats. I have 8 boys, 5 of them are rexes.

They're really, sweet pets. Very loving and smart! You need 3 of them ideally though, at least.

What I loved about guinea-pigs was the fact they were floor-based and not very bright ( ok , they are as thick as mince but that;s their charm )

Panda is gorgeous , I;m sure her siblings are equally as gorgeous .

Are your rats all female ?

Do you have to get them neutered? we had 3 brothers when I was a dc. Weren't neutered but wasn't sure if females fought.. Do they smell less than boys?

Yes. You can most definitely tell if they are male

Generally not. You should never mix sexes so pregnancy shouldn't be a problem.

Occasionally a male will have hormone related aggression and neutering can be recommended but I've never had that personally.

They scrap and argue but a lot of rat owners saying if you don't see blood they're just playing.

They definitely smell less than boys.

Boys are fat and sweet but they just tend to dribble piss all over when you're holding them. Girls tend to hold their bladder and just not have urine as potent.

I love that too, they're little hands are so delicate.

I had my rats crocheted too. My last set of girls not this one (there's 6 in total)

Maybe that will be my next commission, they are so sweet. The girl who did them tried to teach me to crochet so will see if I can improve!

My son is 4 and has been rat obsessed for over a year, he saw them at our local garden centre and just fell in love 🤣

I'd actually love to get some (I'd obviously take care of them and he'd just help) but we have an old cat who's a hunter so I'd never feel like they'd be safe! Maybe in a few years...
