Oh, I am sorry.

I cried all day when my 3 year old hamster died.

It is probably too soon but someone is offering 2 hamsters for free as they can't manage them anymore.

piratecat · 07/04/2008 20:12

sorry about your hammy. I had one once called jimmy, he was lovely.

how old was yours??

theUrbanNixie · 07/04/2008 20:15

we think he was about 3, maybe a bit older.

i think dh wants to move his cat in, so not a good idea to get more hamsters although i'd love to. i wouldn't really have time to clean them out either.

thanks for all your sympathies - i feel really silly crying over a hamster!

I felt daft too but they were our pets.

piratecat · 07/04/2008 20:17

yes but your pets are part of your life, your family. poor little chap. I am sure he had a very happy life.

theUrbanNixie · 07/04/2008 20:19

he was very fluffy and used to love being combed. i didn't do it enough.

ok - someone kick me now, this is stupid.

I cried when I had to take my last hamster to the vets for the big sleep. I was only about 27 at the time. Our family rule of thumb for pet bereavement was always go out and get another pet. The cat should cheer you up.

Very for you. I cried for 3 days when ours died and I know how sad you must be feeling.
