Sick Piggie - any hope???

Hello fellow Piggie mums,

I’m very worried for my Pig, and wondered if anyone had any positive story for me. Pig is not using one back leg at all, and the other hardly. Is eating if on lap, or literally places on top of food. Poo comes out of you pick him up, it’s hard to tell if passing it independently as well.

visited vets this afternoon, because I felt they were “off” and before I had notice the leg was an issue. Because a timid pig, the lack of walking in the vet wasn’t out of character.

my plan is to hand feed frequently over weekend, and see if any improvement. My worry is that because there was no squeaking or sign of pain when examined, is that it is a spinal injury.

Do you think it is worth going back to vet for painkilling injection now I know the leg is an issue? Or should I stick to hand feeding plan?

Is there any realistic hope, or should I be prepping my kids for one last weekend and then saying goodbye?

I made the decision to let him go, his back was either badly sprained or broken.
