Guinea pig runny nose

One of the pigs has a bit of a runny nose. Both fairly lethargic, but tbh it’s hot, so I think they are just lying about. Ate this morning. When do I need to worry? They’ve just returned from a couple of nights with the sitter.

Runny nose could be an upper respiratory infection. If it's not better tomorrow I would ring the vets. Ask the sitter if they've noticed anything. If it's been like it longer plus lethargy I would be a bit concerned.

She’s now out pootling about, so I think perhaps she was just hot. I’ll see how she goes. We got them back yesterday morning & they were fine then.
might phone the vet tomorrow just in case.

That sounds encouraging.
To keep mine cool during hot weather I used to freeze a plastic bottle full of water and place it in the shady part of the hutch. It helped cool the space down and they used to lie alongside it and lick the condensation.

i hadn’t thought of putting it inside the hutch, I’ve given them a cool pack in their run though and they have lots of shade.
they have a little hot water bottle for cold nights :)

Ha. I used those microwave warmers for mine and you could hear them chuntering happily once they were put in. Bless! I am without piggies now so enjoying them vicariously through this forum.
