Hello, we have recently got pet mice and I'm still working out what is safe/not for them to eat. Someone suggested bird food mix as a treat so can I feed them vitakraft fruit cocktail as a treat?

https://petsmagnet.co.uk/products/vitakraft-cockatiel-cocktail-250g?currency=GBP&variant=32193107624029&utmmedium=cpc&utmmsource=google&utmcampaign=Google%20Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAiA9tyQBhAIEiwA6tdCrAALgsSEsyq9vDINXffzUT4WrB4Nwpkp5FnYfY8wzQEKYjFgxjf-xBoCCOUQAvD_BwE

It has raisins, dates etc. in and not sure if that's ok as keep finding complicating info online. Thank you very much. Any suggestions of treats for mice much appreciated too.

Can’t you nip your a pet store and ask someone there? Or feed them whatever mice usually eat…

Yeh, you can get proper rodent food so I wouldn't buy bird food for them.

Give them small amounts of cheese for a treat Smile

Yes pet stores have proper rodent food—why feed bird food when the proper stuff is available? There is a guide here www.pdsa.org.uk/pet-help-and-advice/looking-after-your-pet/small-pets/feeding-your-mice

Thanks all. Sorry I probably should have explained better. Their diet is made up of a proper mouse feed and safe treats, however I was told they love parrot/cockatiel seed mix as a treat so wanted to check of this particular one was ok for them. Think I'll just return it and stick to the specific mouse treats.
