Please would someone recommend a hamster cage?

My 12 year old daughter is getting a hamster. He's really cute and is white. I'm getting him from a breeder, not a pet shop.

I am not sure which cage to buy. The easier to clean, the better. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The Savic plaza highly recommended, bigger than the minimum size and easy to get into. Unfortunately a lot of the cages which were suitable we can’t get anymore because of brexit!

If you watch Victoria Raechel on YouTube, she has loads of useful info on the best cages. We went for an IKEA Detolf hack (it’s really easy - you just build the main parts and then turn it on its side, but make sure that one of the side panels missing).

Savic plaza from pets at home. I believe they are coming back in stock on 10/08

Don't let pets at home sell you any of their other cages as they are not suitable for Syrian hamsters, despite what they will tell you.

The ones with the plastic tubes that go outside the cage are such a pain, to clean especially.

Would recommend the Savic Hamster Heaven too. Plenty of space and I find it easy to clean, especially if your daughter helps.

Oh they’ll need a 28cn wheel too, Trixie is the cheapest

We used a second hand fish tank, he lived to ripe old age, and more than happy.
I also made a silent wheel using a steel rod, and bearings, never heard a squeak at night, from the wheel at least!

We had the Qute by Omlet. Looks nice, has storage and very easy to clean.
