Wash your hands before handling, especially if you have food smells on your hand. Make sure he is fully awake and not stressed. Get him slowly used to being handled by carefully scooping him up and holding for a couple of seconds at a time.

You can buy chewy toys online. Also sitting in the bath without water with the hamster so he can climb over you

Hamsters aren't actually usually happy to be handled frequently. They're naturally nervous creatures, and prefer to roam than be held. If he's chewing you, it's very likely he isn't happy and wants to be put down. Make sure they have lots of chew toys in the cage also.
