Hay mites/Static lice

Has anyone successfully treated a case of hay mites (also known as static lice) in guinea pigs? We have 3 healthy girls but decided to adopt 2 more baby girls over the weekend. Unfortunately they both seem to have hay mites. I've never dealt with these before and need to make sure they are gone before introducing the babies to my 3 big girls (they are in quarantine for now!)

I have used ivermectin drops on the back of their ears as a preventative incase they have any other parasites and have ordered lice 'n' easy shampoo to wash them in. I'm just so paranoid of not clearing them properly and then infecting my healthy girls. Help!

Hello --
I have no piggies now but I did have something ( I think Static Lice) on one of my pigs , mainly noticed because she was a smooth Himalayan , her cagemates were a tricolour and a coarse coat boar .
I just saw tiny dark thin things moving in her fur at her rump .

Lice'n'Easy shampoo (Gorgeous Guineas) was what I used too. But double check the age restrictions to the age of your new piggies . Most cannot be used on a piglet under 3 months
Ivermectin doesn't work on this parasite because they aren't blood suckers . Though I did use Xeno450 as a regular preventative and I fortunately never had a case of mites.

We did two bathe sessions IIRC a week apart .
Changed all the bedding , used a steamer gun,

I (personally) blame hay from P@H , I rarely bought from there and I must've got a rogue batch .
It was a bit of a pain washing and drying three stroppy little hogs but in the end no harm done .

@70isaLimitNotaTarget thanks for replying, the babies were old enough for the shampoo thankfully so we bathed them yesterday, it was extremely difficult as they hated every step of it but we all came out alive. I will repeat In a week, I don't know if I'm supposed to try and comb the mites out though? I can't find a comb fine enough!

The other problem is their eyes, they both came with crust and one had gunk aswell Sad I'm cleaning them with salt water and using chloromphenical drops and after 5 day one of the girls seems to have clear clean eyes but the other one still have some crust in the corners.

I feel I might have bitten off more than I can chew as my 3 big girls haven't had any health problems, but I'm not giving up on these babies and I'm determined to get them healthy and happy. On the plus side they do popcorn which melts my heart!
