Friends pet rabbit died and they’re not home for 3 more days. Will it be okay wrapped in towel in a box in the garage til then? Temperature is 6/7 degrees overnight... 11/12 during the day...

foxes will often try to dig it up anyway so you need to put some stones or something down

Another vote for freezing it. You can seal it up in a plastic bag (double layer to be extra secure). No way any harm could come to the food in the freezer, or indeed to Bunny himself. Much better than the alternatives.

good thing this happened before No Deal Brexit or Bunny would be out of the freezer and into the slow cooker

We put one of our guinea pigs in the freezer because she died while my youngest was away on her residential. It was fine.

It’s not getting frozen in my or their freezer. We’ve no room in ours and it’s a bit gross sorry.
I’ve spoken to the bunny owners and they’re happy for us to bury her for them. My parents have our pet cemetery with Broken flagstones in a crazy paving style that can be put on top of the grave. Then the wee bunny owners can come say their goodbyes when home.

Bunnies in the freezer?! Christ Shock Glad you are going to bury it!

What happened to the rabbit OP?

Our guinae pig died the other Friday. We waited to bury on the Saturday as it rained all day. There was a smell we thought related to the cat litter but it didn't.

Don't leave it.

Our guinae pig died the other Friday Ahh Sad

They do pong a bit once they go .
A couple of years ago we had to have GP5 euthanised at this time of year . Her cagemate was with her . The pigs ( her cagemate and our boar ) were all living in the small bedroom. We left her body overnight in the run with her cagemate (boar was side by side) so they could have some grieve time , but took her out first thing the next morning to the garage .
