My guinea pig died suddenly this morning

Yesterday Nibbles wasn't his usual self, very quiet and hardly eating, overnight he developed heavy erratic breathing and was laying in his cage almost like a pancake, he didbt want to be picked up and I had to go to work but dh is wfh and called me at 830 to say he had died, his brother was trying to keep him warm and was chattering away to him, it's like he knew

We don't have a garden but my dm let us bury him in hers

Dh said that Ginger spent most of the day looking for his brother and calling for him

I suspect he had some sort of pneumonia

Not eating is always a sign a Guinea pig needs a vet. If your other pig starts to be similarly sluggish, please don't wait and see - take it to a vet.
Your pig needed antibiotics and syringe feeding.
