Hello, this was my just turned one year old rabbit smudgetastic. When I went to check on him this morning in his shed, some vile person has stolen him as well as taking his food / water bowls. He was a very much loved pet, I spent a lot of time with in the garden. How anybody can steal someone’s rabbit is beyond me. I hope whoever took him is taking good care of him. I miss him terribly

I'm so sorry to read this OP. He's a very handsome boy, what a heartbreaking thing to happen. Have you put posters up, shared photos on Facebook etc? I hope he comes back home soon, you must be in bits.

KatherineJaneway · 02/08/2020 03:44

How awful Sad I don't understand how someone could do that.

I agree with pp, can you put posts on your local Facebook and Nextdoor sites?

AliceinBunnyland · 03/08/2020 20:23

OP that's so awful

I hope you can get him back

Was your shes visible from the road? I'm wondering whther it's someone you know

bunnygeek · 04/08/2020 15:35

I'm so sorry :( was the shed padlocked? Do you or any neighbours have CCTV?

mosquitofeast · 04/08/2020 15:37

|I'm really sorry to hear this. Have you reported the theft to the police? You can do so online

Kiwiz · 04/08/2020 15:39

Oh my. This is absolutely dreadful.

Where are you OP?

Have you put out similar posts on FB/Instagram/Twitter? Contacted the police? Put up posters? Put a notice up at your local shop/post office etc?

I really hope you’re reunited with your rabbit ASAP.

There have been a lot of dog thefts near me over the past few weeks and the police have been helpful. There’s a PCSO dealing with all of them.

SassenachWitch · 12/08/2020 14:05

Hi OP, any news? Have you managed to locate your bunny?

KatherineJaneway · 12/08/2020 15:20

@Tinyandpetite

Any news?

Dear OP

This is absolutely horrifying. I will keep you and Smudgetastic in my prayers I promise you even if offers you a little comfort. It disgusts me to the high heavens and back that people have the audacity to do this. I have three rabbits (a 6 year old and two under 12 month olds as I've recently rescued them) but I've never had any of them outdoors for many reasons but one of those reasons were that I would't be able to get over the loss of with after bonding when the risk outdoors is always them being stolen. I couldn't do it. Put posters etc up and contact the police. In fact publish a photo of him and put it in the local newspaper (it's helped pet owners be reunited with their stolen pets in the past). Was beautiful Smudgetastic microchipped with your details on? If so, then he goes to the vets they may scan him and have your details pop up x
