Hi, we are running out of the hay that came with the hamster but having had to replace the cage because it was far too small, I'm not trusting that the hay is the right one either. What is the best one that I can get from amazon?
After reading on here about the fluffy bedding dd has shredded loo roll and mixed it with the hay we have. The hamster seems very happy with it.
Dd would like some of the confetti bedding but I don't know how suitable this is?

And do they need hay and bedding material? Dd mixes the two.

Carefresh is fine. They need some kind of nesting material, but not necessarily hay. The type of hay doesn't matter too much for hamsters. I use the Russel Rabbit hay but any hay will do.

Have you heard of the Hamster Central forum? It's a wonderful resource for learning about hamster care.
