Hi y’all just asking for some advice because I am desperate!! I recently got a new puppy about 1 week ago and I took him to his vet appointment this past Monday and it is now Friday he got his checkup and first round of shots. Idk if it can be from the vet visit but my puppy isn’t wanting to eat. I’ve tried just about anything from trying a new foods do trying a pumpkin enzyme, wet food, milk replaced powder over his food(owner before me was doing it), soften it with warm water, to pouring a spoon full of low sodium chicken broth over his food but he is still himself playful gets excited so i’m just at a list of why he isn’t eating and i’m just scared and a wreck that i’ll lose him.

Was he fully weaned when you get him? Seven weeks would be early to be taking him home.

  1. if he was less than 8 weeks when you took him home, that's typically (there are exceptions) cruel and indicative of bad breeding practices

  2. you haven't tried any of these diets for long enough to see if they work

  3. tiny puppies get dehydrated and malnourished easily - have you sought vet care?

Yes he was eating solid foods before we got him, they started to weave him off from his mom around his 4-5 week mark.

Op, I hope he's ok. You might want to ask MN to move this to the doghouse as this is more guinea pigs and so on, hopefully you'll get more advice there.
