House Bunnies & Cats!

We've fallen in love with the idea of having a house bunny. We have two 2 year old cats (not siblings), one of which is chilled, the other likes to play / pounce / annoy the chilled one. Neither bring in mice or birds.

Can anyone advise on how likely it is that the playful cat would be kind to the rabbit?

And do rabbits destroy your home? Skirting boards / sofas etc?

With the right care and attention rabbits make amazing pets, and can happily live indoors. BUT they are almost always destructive and messy, and they need a lot of space -- think free-range in at least one room, with a suitable hutch, cage or enclosure to retreat to or be shut in when you are out or in bed. They will chew wires, dig up carpets, chew furniture and skirting boards. It is possible to train them to use a litter tray, but you may still find droppings everywhere! Also, rabbits are far better kept in pairs than alone. They will get bored and unhappy if kept alone, even with lots of human company.
As for the cats, that depends entirely on the cats and on the rabbits. Some will get along fine and some really won't.
All rabbits are different, so you have to be prepared to adapt to whatever personality you end up with. Ours live outdoors but come inside every day. One of them just lies around chilling out and having endless cuddles. The other races around climbing furniture, scavenging for food and trying to get inside cupboards. Neither of them are terrible for chewing, but we've had rabbits in the past who ate a hole in the back of our sofa and set up camp inside it, and rabbits who chew chair legs and wires.
Honestly, rabbits are beautiful, sociable, friendly and lovable. But do your research first!
