Baby guinea pig outdoors?

I have an approx 7 week old guinea pig and I have an outbuilding with electricity. Is it ok to house him in a hutch inside it? It is insulated and I have a plug in heater that is made for small animaks to sit on and keep warm. As far as I know he's only lived inside so I'm not sure if he'd be too cold?

I live on Vancouver Island and our weather is very similar to England. It was about 10 degrees celcius today

The very little I know about them is that they are social. Does he have a little friend?

Defo needs a mate. For company and to snuggle up to. I would say it's a bit young to put him outside. As PP said, maybe if it was the summer months, I'd wait if I were you.
Can you keep him indoors ( at night at least) for a while?

Your guinea might not have the happiest existence living outside on his own, and at seven weeks he is so little. They really aren't trouble to have indoors; basic hutch maintenance really only takes a few minutes each day changing the damp hay and lining, and it won't smell at all. And they are so entertaining and sweet to have around.

They shouldn't be kept alone. They get depressed. Please don't just have the one.

It is too cold to put a tiny piglet outside (or even an adult if it's kept indoors would struggle to aclimatise)

He will be lonely , bored out of his tiny skull, losing out on the social interactions of his cagemates and mother .

Without wanting to sound like a prick ......actually no I don't mind sounding like a prick here .
Did you actually research guinea-pigs?

Unless you were suddenly gifted him and someone in your house is majorly allergic and you are just holding him till you can pass him I cannot fathom why you think you can do this to a tiny , vunerable , very temperature and damp sensitive sociable little rodent !

I agree with everyone else. That’s a recipe for a very unhappy guinea pig.

Please keep him inside until the spring. And get him a friend.

Everything about the set-up you’re proposing is wrong for a tiny guinea pig.
