Just in the last couple of weeks, otherwise she seems fine, active, good appetite and I can't see/smell any evidence of wet tail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Which species of hamster is she e.g. Syrian, Russian Dwarf, Robo?

booellesmum · 11/10/2018 22:44

Russian dwarfs can get diabetes.Lot less likely in Syrians.
We had a Syrian that drained the water bottle a couple of times a day and took a urine sample to the vet. It was fine, just a weird hamster.
Worth getting it checked out sooner rather than later though. Take a sample to the vets with you.
Hope he's ok.

Thanks for replying, she's a Syrian so I'm glad to hear it's unlikely to be anything serious.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say it was nothing serious.

As she's a Syrian, my bet would be a kidney disorder, but she needs to see a vet - ideally an exotic specialist, as "small animal" vets only specialise in dogs, cats and rabbits.
