Our 7 year old, much-loved, old girl appears to suddenly have quite a bit of blood mixed in with her wee. She lives indoors with us in the base of a huge rabbit cage, lined with incontinence pads and a very light layer of woodshavings. Noticed her rear end fur is quite damp suddenly too. She's eating and drinking as usual. Ringing vet in the morning but wondered if anyone has experienced similar with their piggy. I'm thinking possibly a bladder stone or UTI but she's not squeaking in pain when she wees. Anyone had a good outcome from this?

One of my girls peed blood , she was given antibiotics but wasn't squealing or hunching when she peed.

Looking back, I think it was a cyst of some sort, she was quite rounded but firm , not flabby , When she did have bleeding , one side seemed to deflate.

I noticed the blood patches one morning , about 7-8 distinct patches , took her to the vet that night.

She recovered from that but sadly we lost her a month or so later, she wasn't 'old' old , nearly 4 , ex Rescue/breeder .
God Luck at the vet , keep your piggie hydrated , keep her off dark green veg too

Thank you 70isaLimitNotaTarget Really sorry to hear you lost your girlFlowers. Got seen by the vet this afternoon and been given a week's antibiotics for a probable UTI. Strangely, her pee had no blood in it today. Just cloudy n lots of white blood cells, he said, so definite infection. He cdnt feel any stones when he examined her. Got to bring her back in a week and if any bloody urine still, then she'll have an xray to investigate further. Will up her water intake and keep her off the broccoli. She hated the Baytril and that was with the vet squirting it in. Hoping she (and i) will get the hang of it. Realise how lucky we are to have had her this long, actually. We lost her mate when she was 4. It seems so young in comparison, eh.
