Advice on housing rabbits in a shed

Just that.

We have indoor rabbits that we’d like to move outside due to space. Does anyone have rabbits in a shed type structure and any advice?

Concerns are:

  • they need to be kept separate - they were bonded (two boys, neutered) but they fight and had one particularly vicious fight which resulted in injury to my Rex rabbit
  • keeping them warm in winter
  • ensuring they have enough space, perhaps with a run attached to the shed

There's lots of shed ideas on here:

If you have enough of a garden, you can definitely do a split shed, or two sheds, with attached runs for them both. I would recommend bringing the rabbit total up to four and getting them both a wifebun though - that helps with the winter cold as they'll snuggle together.

Are you in the UK? If so, this is the wrong time to do it, you'll have to wait until spring before they can go outside as they won't have their winter coats in.

We don’t want more rabbits at the moment. I’m 5 months pregnant so not looking at bonding two sets of bunnies and we don’t have space for two sheds as it’s a small yard. The reason we want a shed at all is because we don’t have space any where else and we were hoping to have moved by now and have garage space.

Thanks for the link

If I had known better I would have got a male and a female to start with
