Guinea pig losing hair

My 2 year old Rex has been losing the lovely ginger fur on his back for a month or so now.

I have treated him for mites, and the rescue lady/breeder has bathed him in some kind of moisturising/soothing stuff.

But still he is losing the fur.

Should I treat again for mites (did one treatment and then another two weeks later)

Could it be that the heat is causing him to shed some hair? My other Rex isn’t and I am managing to keep them pretty cool but maybe he really doesn’t like the heat (like me).

I will take him to the vets if necessary but he seems fine apart from this and to be honest, in my experience, the breeder has been more knowledgable about GP stuff than the vets.

I would consider taking him to the vets in case he needs a medical treatment. Hair loss can sometimes be associated with ringworm in guinea pigs.
