😬
On Saturday I noticed a lump on neck. Been to vets today and they think it’s a tumour. So tomorrow he is going to have an operation to remove it. The vet is super experienced with g pigs so I trust him but still.
Please send my dear little pig good wishes for tomorrow.

Good luck little one and wishing a speedy recovery

FernieB · 04/06/2018 21:19

Good luck piggle- my Madampig sends parsley kisses

MrsZB · 04/06/2018 23:39

Thank you both. Just hope he will be ok. We lost our elderly cat a few weeks ago and I’m not ready to lose another pet yet.

The vet sounded very competent and has been working with pigs for 27 years so that’s reassuring.

Thank you again.

Fingers and claws crossed here.
When does the piggie come round from surgery?

Hope you get good results and its all removed, there's a chance its a fatty lump or an abscess (especially if its a quick grower) but you'll find out after the op.

He is ok! He is still recovering. I can go and get him in an hour and half. (We are in Canada). Honestly it felt like a tumour unfortunately but vet thinks he would be able to get it all out and it will go off to be tested to find out a bit more.

He is such a dear little chap I can’t wait to get him home. Have got parsley and lettuce in the fridge waiting for him!

The vets should feed him before he goes home (when we had GP3 castrated he had to take a little box of snacks and they had to make sure he ate and poohed to ensure his gut was still functioning)

You'll get the judgey looks but hopefully you'll get Loxicam or similar (GP3 practically sprinted across his cage on Day 2) Its like my DC glugging Calpol Grin or they'll give him a painkiller injection.

Lots of TLC for ZBPig

Thank you. He was having some iv fluids when they rang and said they will give full instructions when I pick him up ❤️

He is home! Looks a little shocked poor love. We have Baytril, meta cam and cisaprise for him in various doses. Also some critical care food for if he doesn’t eat.

That's wonderful news! I hope he's recovering well, and taking his medicine like a good boy! Hopefully the tests will come back saying it's nothing serious. We're keeping our fingers and claws crossed for good news!

Hope he's enjoying his parsley and lettuce. xxx

PS Where are the pigtures?????

Glad it went well. He's a very handsome chap.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 07/06/2018 09:19

He's lovely! Looks like a combination of two of my girls. Bet they'd be fighting over him!

He does seem to be enjoying his parsley! I fear it will take more than that before he forpigs you, mind!

millimat · 12/06/2018 22:39

How is he doing now?

Helloflamingogo · 12/06/2018 22:42

Oh he’s so lovely. Peggy and Betty send their regards.

MrsZB · 13/06/2018 13:42

Hi, he is doing ok thank you. It’s now a week since his operation. On Sunday he only did one poo so we were back on the critical care. He was only really eating lettuce and the odd bit of hay. I spoke to vet on Monday and she advised me to stop his Baytril as it was possibly putting him off his food

So I did and yesterday he did lots of poos and seemed to be eating better already.

So going well. I haven’t yet had the results of what the lump was...

Thank you for all the good wishes!

And the best news I heard today is that the lump was benign!! So he should be totally fine!
