New Guinea Pigs...with pigtures

Behold the newest additions to the Clara household. Daisy and Norman.
Both boys (formerly known as Nigel and Jimmy at the rescue)
They're the cutest wee guys and currently lying on opposite ends of the cage snoozing. Covered in hay.
The kids are delighted and Nigel doesn't seem at all bothered that he is being called a girls name.
Love them already.

Chattering teeth means they aren't totally happy with something; it could be that it is a new environment and they are feeling a bit vulnerable or it could be that they are trying to work out again who is the boss in the new place.

If they are feeling a bit vulnerable then they might appreciate a place to hide out there - I cover part of their run with a towel so they can sit under it when they want to.

Ours have two beds, so they can separate when one of them is in a strop. Interesting development recently has been a change in alpha-pig.

We don't seem to have an alpha pig; we have one who thinks he is alpha pig but the one pictured keeps him in check - we had him first and then got would be alpha pig as a tiny baby and he would cry for the other pig if he was on his own in the cage so he's not quite allowed to be alpha pig. He tries to boss GP5 around but GP5 is very laid back and doesn't care, GP6 is quick and runs away so would be alpha pig has to go and have his way with a bit of hay!
