Just ordered my first c&c!

Brought my pig indoors a couple of weeks ago due to his brother dying unexpectedly and the impending cold snap, and I have decided I really like having him inside and he is going to be a permanent indoor pig now.

I feel a bit guilty as they were out in a 3m x 3m compound so had absolutely tonnes of space. However, the compound will have to go as a compromise with DH to allow pig to live indoors. I hope he will be happier in a c&c indoors where people will chat to him all the time and give him veggie scraps...

Do I need any exciting accessories for my c&c?

Do you mean an actual pig? Shock

knockknockknock · 07/03/2018 21:55

Guinea pig 😂

IveGotStupidHair · 07/03/2018 22:04

That makes much more sense, sorry Blush. I was about to say how cruel it would be to keep a pig in a small cage inside. I’ll go now.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 07/03/2018 22:19

Yeah DH will just about manage a little guinea pig in the house, actual pig and it would be me outside in the run. Grin

Obviously it’s DS’s guinea pig really....

C&C (I have a Costco knockoff grid set) are brilliant , very versatile.
I made a huge run for our girls indoors (with a lid when I have visiting cat)
You need to line it , they can't walk on the grids. Many owners buy the thin plastic that signs are made from and cut to fit.

But as (I'm very tightfisted) I like to change the shape , I use thick cardboard and some memory foam bathmats (Primark) that I cover with puppy pads/newspaper to make cleaning easy.

You can use the little corner clips or cable ties .

I have two cardboard boxes filled with hay , a tunnel and a parsley bell in the sows cage , easy to change about .
They have it part covered with grid and a blanket for night .

I haven't done two level lofts (pigs are too idle to climb here) but partitioned off hay area, sleeping area works.

My pigs have been in for months , its nice in the extreme cold to know they're cosy but I think they want to go out soon.
My Mothers Day Treat will be sorting the Pighouse

I have picked up a cardboard 'grid' sort of squares .
I've cut some doors in the 'walls' and plan to put it in the sows C&C to make little rooms to pootle about in. If they like it , great, cost me zero.
If they don't then I've learned from it.

We used to have an old wooden bookcase (narrow with three sections )that DH cut some rectangles in to make a 3 room unnel aka The Library .The pigs (when we had GP6 and his 2 wives) loved it , we usually found the 3 of them squished into the middle room Grin

unnel= tunnel (Hairy Trucker Hands )

Great ideas there 70. I have bought a pre-made c&c so it’s coming with a correx insert. Should be delivered tomorrow.

I think I’m going to get a set of fleece snuggles from Ziggy.
