Guinea pig indoor house help

So we are getting a pair of piggies. After having no luck with suitable outdoor cages. I have seen this for indoors. Is this size ok for two sows?

4'x2' is the minimum recommended for 2 pigs. Our two sows have half the Pighouse , there's a big plastic sleeping house in it (one of those storage boxes for garden cushions) with doors cut out , then the floorspace.

You need to take into account the space hat food bowls take up too.

When the pigs come in for winter the sows will have the indoor 4'x2' and the boar will have a C&C made for him (need to work out the size for him)

Hmm, it's pretty small to be honest. We have ours outdoors in a chicken coop which is about 170 x 70 with an upstairs loft area too.

They are just about to move inside for the winter and they will be in a slightly smaller version of the above.

I still question whether it's big enough and I have two boars. Next spring my plan is to make a huge enclosure outside which will be about 5 metres long

Without dimensions, it is impossible to advise. I have 3 indoor piggies (2 sows and a neutered boar). Main loving space is 6x2 foot with a ramp up to a 2x2 foot kitchen. C and C set up. Also have

Oops, posted too soon. Also have a floor time c and c pen which is set up 2-3 days per week. But I know that our cage is on the generous side.

I thought 120x60 was ok. The picture I posted is 120x80.

They would be in our lounge and then I imagine just running about when we are home

120x60 would be the absolute minimum. A company each as Pets at Home will tell you that it is fine. But GP owners will tell you to go bigger.

In terms of running about when you are at home, do you mean free running?

Our local P at H say the bigger the better and they are right. We have a C&C cage which is dubious quality but the size is 6x2 downstairs and 2x2 upstairs. We have a 3x3 run outside but only 2 pigs go in that at a time.

Good to hear that about your local P at H User. Our local one is pretty notorious now for incorrect sexing and poor advice. So our local rescue place (of which we are supporters) is busier than ever

Bigger is definitely better.

Decided now to get an outdoor hutch. 6ft by 3 with a run. Been researching and researching. Don't want to get the wrong thing. Had guinea pigs years ago but it been a while! We can't wait 😊
