Parrot/parakeet breeds advice...

I'm very keen to have another parrot when I have moved next year. I had a princess of wales parakeet until she passed away 2 years ago. She was given to me by a friend who couldn't keep her and we adored her. Never occurred to me to have a pet bird had no idea what they were like. My girl was honestly like a flying puppy she was cuddly and friendly and naughty and had loads of character. She was loose in the house and only shit in her cage when we had workmen as she couldn't leave them alone!

I cannot find a breeder of this variety for love nor money. Dozens of parrots for sale every where - any recommendations or experience? We have a dog but my bird came from a house with a dog so didn't give a hoot. I want another cuddly bird

I have had cockatiels and they are lovely and cuddly. You need two though or they get upset and behave badly.
I'm not sure about parrots as they get a lot of behaviour problems. I don't think they make very happy pets

One relative has a small parrot. Fucking awful creature. Screams all the time (I've never worked out if the next door neighbours are saints, or if the walls are just really thick), bites for no reason at all, destroys fixtures and fittings and refuses to go in its cage.

Don't do it!

We've just got a princess of Wales parakeet. Only 6 months old and we chanced upon him in a local pet store. You could always put a wanted ad on the pet sites?

Budgies also make lovely pets. Very affectionate - just little.
