Paralyzed guinea pig isn't eating much

A couple weeks ago I posted about my guinea pig, Pearl, losing her mobility in her back legs. She went to the vets, had xrays, and it looks like there is narrowing of the spine. I also think she may hve been jumped on by the other younger and bigger guinea pig. They are separated now but have a wire divider so they can still chat. She seemed fine otherwise, eating, drinking and alert. She is currently on metacam and antibiotics.

But today I'm noticing she isn't eating much. I cut some grass from the yard for her and she did perk up and eat some but later I looked and there was still tons left. The Vet said that we need to see how her quality of life is and is she stops eating we might have to let her go.

She is going back to the vets on tuesday for a check up. I don't know what to do. 🙁

Try & get to the vets sooner - GPs that stop eating are quite poorly.

A piggy that leaves grass is a bad sign. My piggy is winding down, very old with multiple lumps eating less but I had her on the grass today. Looking at the close cropped lawn and poo out put she has been eating all day.

To be honest, from what she's said, and as you haven't mentioned any realistic prospect of her getting better, I think it may be kinder to PTS Sad

Hi she's eating again!!! And popping a lot. I gave her crispy romaine. Spent time tickling her little ears and one of her legs seems to be moving now!!!! 😃
