Gerbil breeder in/near London?

Hello,
As the title says really! Can anyone recommend a breeder/pet shop that sources from a reputable breeder? I'd rather avoid the big chains if possible. Thank you!

Would you consider rescuing some gerbils? They often come up on sites like Gumtree / Shpock / Pets4Homes in desperate need of an owner / cage upgrade

They do also show up at rescue centres sometimes (though many of the big ones refuse to take them FFS). Mimi's Rodent Rescue sometimes has some available www.facebook.com/MimisRodentRescue/

Thank you! I'll look up Mimi's rodent rescue. My only reservations are that DSD has looked up gerbil life span and is fretting (she has been doing a LOT of research), and that I used to have pet rats that came from a pet shop and they all died of weird genetic diseases caused by inbreeding. I still remember it being really traumatic - I don't know if that's a risk at all with gerbils! I'm definitely happy to rescue, but for the sake of DSD (and myself) would like to maximise the chances of them having a long happy life...

Which side of London are you on? There's a small rescue gerbilandrodentrecue (find them online & on Facebook) near Croydon who are just brilliant. Lots of baby gerbils plus they're handled daily so really well socialised

Great! That should be reasonably close to us - will look them up. Thank you.
