Hamster losing fur

Our little Syrian hamster is losing fur. She is about 16 mths old.

It started at Christmas with a bit of fur on her left back leg, but just noticed it's also going under her tummy. Doesn't look raw or seem to be bothering her.

Otherwise she seems well.

Any ideas? Should we take her to the vet?

Will try and post a couple of pics

Anyone?

I've found a link that might be useful. It seems to be quite common in hamsters over 12 months, and may be just a case of adding some supplements to the diet:
www.hammysworld.com/index.php?p=furloss

I'd try that first before taking her to the vet if she's otherwise OK.

That's really helpful thank you!

I expect it's just a middle-age hamster thing. Our last hamster had a couple of baldish patches around the neck once he got to that age, but I tried feeding some different foods and the fur grew back. He was a long-haired hamster so it was difficult to tell.

She's a cutie!
