In at night, out in the day?

Have brought my GPigs in as so cold at night, but still want them to get fresh grass and more exercise in the day.

Is it ok to put them out in the outside run in the day or will the temperature change be too shocking for them? Thanks!

My pigs are indoor pigs and live in the utility room (coolest room in summer but not too heated in winter). During spring, summer and autumn they go out in their run most days, providing its dry. The last few winters have been mild so as long as it's relatively warm and sunny, they go out. I put the run half in the patio (dries quicker) and put a thick layer of old towels down for them to rest on. Otherwise they have a run in the kitchen on a blanket

My two live outside all year round and are now six and a half, When the weather turns colder, they just have more bedding put in their bedroom and straw is added to their bedding to provide some insulation. They are quite hardy creatures, apparently mine have grown thick coats to cope with the cold.I think yours should be ok.

It's the change of temperature that is harmful (and damp)
So you donn't want to put them into a hot room then out when its cold.

We put ours in the small bedroom for winter nights (no heater on and the window open a bit) with a duvet over the cage.
Then when they go to the Pighousem I give fresh bedding and run their heater for 30 minutes before they go out to make it ambient.

They might not appreciate an outdoor run BTW and would MUCH rather you go out with the grass cutting scissors to bring them a nice plateful

Ha ha yes they are quite lazy so being served grass on a platter would be appealing! It's so hard to know how to keep them happy in the winter, they love being on the grass in the summer and I feel sad for them in the winter! Thanks for the replies, wasn't sure if anyone would see this!

Ours in the utility for the winter. We cut them grass when the weather is cold or it is rainy or damp. This week they've not been outside at all .. we've had rain, Frost's and even a smattering of snow. Only play they have had is a run pootle about indoors.
Sadie has been badly behaved, think she is stir crazy, not helped by constant fireworks over the last.
The more mature Mollie, is rather enjoying being inside on the warm. But she had a nasty chest infection when her mate Sophie died and this has left her with a grunt and susceptible to the damp. The other problem this week has been that the grass is very wet and this upsets their tums. It's been fast amounts of boredom treats and camomile hay instead.
Hoping there is a dry warmish spell soon Sadie would welcome it.
