How much is a reasonable donation for a guinea pig from a rescue centre?

I'd give as much as I could but minimum £20 is probably reasonable. Put pictures of your new piggy up for us!

For a standard piggie, the Rescues I've been to have asked for £10.

I gave £15 for GP1/GP2/GP4/GP5
GP3 was a piglet so I gave £20
GP6 was neutered so I gave IIRC £40
GP7/GP8 £10 each and a big bag of pellets

A lot of Rescues have a request donation list ( of food/hay. ) so you could give a sum for the piggies (to prove your good intentions and you're not a Furrier ) and maybe send on some bedding or dry food?

Pigtures will be forthcoming, yes....

Think I gave £30 for Gingerpig, although he tells me he's priceless! Rescues normally ask for a fixed sum. I gave a bit more than asked but they are usually desperate for funds

Do they neuter and vaccinate Guinea pigs or not? I don't know much about them. If not then £10+ depending on what you can afford, if they do then definitely more, taking into account the cost of those things.

£10 and perhaps send or take something in January when they might be short of funds.

Madrat the Rescue I got most of my pigs from is now neutering the boars if they are old enough, so they're ready to go with females.
IIRC they;ll be charging £40 for them (my GP3 cost £58 to neuter at our vet but the Rescues have a special rate with their vets, the volume of pigs would be more cost effective too)

Pigs (being the vastly superior members of the small furry variety ) don't need vaccines .

Fernie oddly enough, I get told the same by my pigs though I tell GP5 (Oreo) that they should've paid ME to take her away

Every rescued piggie frees up a space for the next piggie in desperate need , some of them aren't just unwanted but neglected (hence the constant need for funding to nurse them)

For Millie we gave £20 and a couple of bags of hay. That was 4 odd years ago.
We send a donation each Christmas in lieu of cards but this is because they are only 3 miles ago and are one of the charities we support - she is an almost one woman band
If you look at what pet shops charge for a piglet it sort of makes sense to try and offer the same

I keep threatening to put mine out with the bins but it doesn't seem to have made them behave any better. Little buggers have been squeaking more than ever since we moved house and they're now in the kitchen. Good thing we like them.

Last weekend our piggies were in (Guy Fawkes) , DD was dee-lighted to have the trio in her room (I improvised with their outdoor smaller run on tarpaulin and cardboard) and the 2 ladies were in the small bedroom in a C&C.

The ladies chewed their cardboard box at 3am.
The boar rumblestrutted all night

I think you are right pipsqueak. The most ridiculous is when they're squeaking for food while they have a mouthful of hay!
