Hamster in an exo terra viv??

My son has been asking for a pet for years. I finally decide on a hamster. But I had also been considering a gecko. I decided hamsters were less ... hassle.

But my mhm bought an exo terra viv locally for very cheap and I'm wondering if I could jus use that for the hamster? I remember having a class cage for one in school.

Any thoughts?

Its like this and the light bit comes off the top. It's ventilated as the top is mesh.

Ok for a Russian but not big or well ventilated enough for a Syrian. Maybe play around see if you could add a second level to make use of its height.
Personally I'd stick with 1 rescue ( older) leopard gecko they're easier to clean and more interesting, just need some worms and crickets!

No IMO it's not big enough and not enough ventilation. Get a hamster heaven on Ebay. It will be easier to clean out too.
