Hi I had a thread a couple of weeks back 'poorly pig' my little boy seemed on the brink. He has since improved but suddenly I am concerned regarding his weight again. He weighs approx 850g tonight he was 838g popped him on the grass for 15 minutes he is now 851g. Since reading that weight is a good starting point to health I have maybe become a little obsessive. He seems fine eating and drinking. My only other indicator is he rarely lies down (chilled out on side) more huddles!?
Do I need to return to the vets or is this an ok weight if he seems okay? If his weight continues to fall is this likely to be serious as he has only just had teeth done.
sorry for rambling

We got to the vets this morning and explained how happy Ben seemed and how he was eating and is weight was increasing so we decided to not proceed with any interventions and see how he goes on with antibiotics and pain relief! I feel happy he hasn't undergone a big op and we can monitor him daily and intervene if necessary. Just a question for al you experts when they are on antibiotics can it effect them and should I be giving him something else to balance him out? Thought I'd read something on here previously?

Probiotics is what you're looking for count to balance the gut flora.
Things like Critical Care contain them, I bought some Probiotic powder from P@H when my GP3 had a loose stool problem (sprinkle on food)

It is a tough call to decide "What's Next" but as your Piggy is eating and maintaining /gaining weight then it seems a good call to monitor him and see how he goes.
He'll let you know (if you look for those subtle guinea signs, they hide things well) if he's not good.
Keep weighing him
Keep a check on his poohs

And just Love Him Smile. He's a gorgeous boy.

Wait and see ... a good plan ..
Positive vibes and paw holding from Mollie and Sadie. Let's hope it stops raining, the weather picks up and all our pigs can get out on fresh grass .. nothing gladens their hearts as much .. apparently ... or so i am freauently told !!!

Oh I'm so pleased for Ben. Hope he keeps gaining in chubbiness and maintains that lovely roly poly piggie shape. Just keep monitoring him - you'll know if he feels 'off'.

That's really good news. Hope he does well. Keep us updated.
