Where to donate unwanted pets?

We 'confiscated' some unloved degus from a family member (and 2 gerbils) with the intention of donating to pets at home adoption centre... however ALL of them within an hour radius of hour house (this is over 15 pahs) have no space...

Any idea who else to contact? Don't want to gumtree them as no guarenteed they'll go to a good home (and have heard stories of people scouring gumtree for pets to feed their snakes etc...!)

Any advice?

where do u live? I know the RSPCA will always help out - the large centres that is..

East midlands area.. have tried rspca who wont help! The smaller animal rescues I can't get through to over christmas... i think i'm gonna have to wait til after xmas arent I!

The woodchippings over the floor are driving my crazy!!

Google animal specific rescue. We rehomed 2 guinea pigs from a GP rescue near us.

A friend had to drive 100 miles to take some rats to a rescue. Some rescues locally may have contacts if they are full, but you may have to travel.

I have a strong suspicion the pah "adoption" scheme is simply older animals they haven't been able to sell, rather than rescues or rehoming. I also noticed last tweet me I went their "rehoming" cages were bursting, and all their for sale cages had cute baby animals. Cynical me thinks they are trying to sell the cute baby versions for Christmas...

So YABU to think they'd help.

I got my gerbils from a breeder who will always try and take any unwanted animals if she can. Try phoning round?

2 of our pah adoption rabbits were from their normal litter but one had been separated because of an eye infection from scrapping with a sibling and one was the last of the litter (the other one had no background info and died suddenly shortly after we got her Hmm) but thought theyd be the easiest option
