Hooray, I can get a hamster Smile. I am going to phone our local independent pet shop tomorrow to see when they might have a new litter ready to go.

(DH thinks a grown woman wanting a hamster is a bit silly, but fine with DS having one and me looking after it).

I've got a hamster. He's lovely. DH knows that there will probably never be a time when we don't have one. Our kids are 18&20 now, ones in th army, the other's at uni, so the hamster really is mine.

We've had hamsters continually for about the last 12 years. I love them. Ever night mine comes upstairs and has a nap in my bed, the last one used to make a nest in my hair and sleep on my shoulder.

We find males are better, females are in season every 3-4 days and can get a bit smelly.

Enjoy your new hamster.
