Washing guinea pigs

So we washed the GPs yesterday. One loved it, the other hated it. The one that hated out still got a good wash - we put him in so he got totally wet, lifted him out and covered him in shampoo then put him back in the water to rinse.
However, despite a good wash he still has a huge greasy area near his bum, think it's the gland? How can we get it clean?

Yes it will be the grease gland. I'm told swarfega does the trick but I never used it on my boys. Smartie either didn't get manky or it didn't show with his chocolate brown fur. Todd aka Old Boy used to get a bit mucky but nothing that warranted special treatment, he had white fur, he showed up the dirt Grin

Oooh yes the Greasespot.

DDs first pig (GP1) was the only one we've had with a greasepot issue , he had a 'tail' sometimes Grin . And Boar Glue - nice

She used to rub a bit of neat shampoo into his rump before his bath, helped to break it down.

GP4 (her sow) tends to have a gunky pee spot (dry but sticky) though it might not all be her, we have our neutered boar to blame.

When she has a bumdip, the water goes yellow
