Eek wild rat spotted near guinea pig run

Argh, just spotted a wild rat living under my shed and raiding some guinea food spellings off the lawn. Pigs are safely in hutch for the night but I like to let them out in the run all day. Now I've spotted a rat. Do I get poison? Is it dangerous to guineas? What do I do?

TBH, rats are everywhere.
Make sure your pigs are safe, can you double up the mesh on the hutch?
maybe put extra on the run?

The main thing is to avoid any foods they can get hold of and can you block the shed space where they live?
Don't poison them they might go off and die under your shed. Ugh.

I wouldn't want rat pee round my pigs but I've seen fieldmice in their pighouse in winter (I suppose like everything else they want to be warm and dry)

Yeh. Worried the GPS might catch fleas or worse off them. Also have a toddler so want the rats gone. Will have to be more assiduous at tidying up when moving run. Blush
