We recently got some new Gps. We have had them for 3 weeks. Noticed yesterday One has lost the fur in an area from her mouth to nose. Underneath is not red/raw just skin which looks ok. Any advice as to firstly likely causes and secondly should I treat in some way? There has been no alteration in behaviour/eating etc. thanks

this could be a fungal or bacterial infection. fungal, chelitis, or maybe ringworm, is quite common. i treat it with daktarin oral gel from the chemists and kwench lotion from gorgeous guineas website. you put it on the skin itself under the scab so you sometimes have to gently loosen off the scab with a bit of water. gorgeous guineas also sell melts and shampoos which you can wash all the pigs in
it can be contagious and can quickly get serious so might be worth a trip to the vets if it doesnt look like it is clearing up quickly or starts spreading quickly.
