How much to donate for my guinea pigs?

I'm getting some piggies from a rescue today and she said there's no official charge but donations are welcome. I was thinking of giving £30 for the pair I'm hoping to get. Does that sound ok or should I give more? Thanks!

I think that sounds fine, it's what I paid for a pair from a local breeder.

Ooh yes, have fun with them, great little creatures Smile

I'm sure I'm too late now, but I think for me it would depend on whether they were neutered and I'm not sure if guineas should be vaccinated?

The local rabbit rescue I used to help at until it closed asked for a minimum of £50 for boys and £60 for girls, but that was far less than they would have spent on them, as neutering was well over £100 at the vets get used and vaccination around £40.

Sounds fair - can we have photos of the pigs please?

The rescue I went to recently asked for £12 for an unneutered boar and £50 for neutered. I paid £20 for my unneutered baby.

No vaccines or neutering. No need for it really with piggies. I fell for the ones who had been there the longest! No one wanted them because they have seriously long hair which looks more high maintenance than it really is. They're absolutely beautiful 1 year old boys! Not a great picture because we're leaving them to settle in for a couple of days before picking them up.

Cuties Smile

Apparently they like a platform on which to stand and show off their luscious locks - hence the plank of wood on some bricks!!

Ooh they are lovely , if they were mine one would definitely be called Boris (after Mr Johnson) blond and a bit daffy.

Bit late for me to add a £ but we donated £30 for GP1 and GP2 . £30 for GP4 and GP5 (all 1yo) £20 for single piglet GP3 (6 weeks)
I had a look in Pet Shops to see the 'going rate' , most Rescues asked for £10

I did give £30 in the end. My socialist husband would be horrified by the name Boris!! Which almost makes it worth doing for the wind up value...
