The sight of 2 pigs popcorning and being hugely overexcited at being out on grass after being confined indoors for a while (combination of bad weather and piggie sniffles). Grin

I had a cuddle with my little piggie tonight (I've been in hospital having my gallbladder removed so bending is still difficult).
She was looked after by DD and DH (though I changed their bedding with DD help and fed them this morning. Animals needs still trump 99% of other obstacles) .

She was a teeny bit judgey but it was lovely to snuggle her piggie fur Grin

Aw, hope you're on the mend soon 70.

I had an emergency appendectomy 4 weeks ago and Luna was the best when I came out of hospital. The first morning I was 'home alone' she came in a cuddled up on me for 2 hours without so much as a nugget iykwim Grin !

Glad your piggies are feeling perkier too Fernie.

FernieB · 15/10/2014 23:04

Thanks For you 70. Hope you're feeling better. Also hope those pigs are understanding and sympathetic and don't make too many demands.

Take it easy and look after yourself.

Thanks For Wyrd as well. My DD went through the same thing earlier this year. Really take it easy. Hope you're getting slowly back into things now.

Thanks Fernie Smile .

Unfortunately I've gone back to work to staff shortage, major building works & a restructuring going on, so taking it easy not really happening!

Have a nice, chilled out weekend coming up though (fingers crossed).

When did you have your GB out 70? I had mine done a few years ago - wasn't overly sore but I was shattered for about 10 days afterwards.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/10/2014 15:54

Gallbladder was on Monday (late afternoon)

GP3 is being judgey, he had his 'nads whipped off in July (by Nice Guinea-Pig Specialist Vet) and lovely Post-Op Painkillers but wasn't as whingey as me Blush

My pigs are very Envy at your Popcorning Grass Eating Pigs Fernie (and very glad that ScruffyPig is feeling better Smile )

I may take my stomach for a walk and pick some fresh grass for them (they are Well Jell being Essex hogs)

FernieB · 16/10/2014 21:42

Not popcorning or eating grass todayHmm. They have been sulking in their igloos as it was too wet to go out. Not even extra cucumber put a smile on their faces (although they ate it anyway).

Glad you're doing okay 70. Maybe the pigs will appreciate you more now. A few days without 'mum' at their beck and call will do them good.

DD & are having a girly night. Decided to watch G Force so bought the girls in and put them in indoor run.

Just as guy on film is explaining piggies superior intelligence & hand/eye coordination I look up to see two previously snoozing guinea pigs have separated two of their run panel and are quietly sneaking along the wall.

Cheeky little feckers Grin !

Ouch WyrdByrd and 70 Flowers for a speedy recovery.

This morning my girls are busy destroying a paper bag Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/10/2014 14:43

Thanks Smile - recovery is progressing, not as quick as I'd like, but time heals and all.
DD brought GP3 up to give a cuddle (the girlies were in the Pighouse so were fine and he seemed to enjoy some 1:1 time being cuddled and told he was handsome)

He peed DD twice (could've been worse, could've been me. Boar pee in my wounds, erm, no )

I haven't let the pigs watch GForce Wyrd and if it inspires them to escape and scuttle along the skirting boards, I probably won't.
But I remember "You try to put a bow on me, you're going to lose a finger" Grin

My pigs are now demolishing a plate of fresh cut grass. It looks lush out there but not suitable for guineas to sit on.

WyrdByrd · 18/10/2014 15:16

Thanks fortified.

Feel ok physically now but had a somewhat traumatic experience with the anaesthetic which I'm struggling with a bit, particularly since they also found an ovarian cyst which may require more surgery early next year Confused .

Sorry to hear you're not mending as soon as you hoped 70. I had to extend by sick note when I had my GB out but mostly because I was so exhausted. I must've slept 12 hours a night plus a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon for a good 10 days after I came home, and I'm normally a 6 hours a night girl!

Anyway, back to piggies - mine must still be a bit daffy as I left them to pick DD up from youth club & they didn't attempt to break out when they could've gotten away with it.

I think it was a ploy as they ended up spending the rest of the evening snuggled up in blankets on our laps Grin .
