Moving outdoor guinea pigs somewhere warmer

Our two boars have lived outside during the summer but I plan to move them into our greenhouse for winter (and bring them indoors at night if the temp falls v low). We will be moving their run/hutch (two storey) into the greenhouse so they'll be on a concrete floor.

Is this ok and what should I cover the run floor in? Will hay alone be enough?

They have a ramp connecting the hutch to the run which they use happily and confidently (since we carpeted it ) so they will have 24hr access to their bedroom for comfort should they need it.

Make sure your greenhouse is ventilated enough loveis they can get condensation and guineas don't like damp.

We sometimes evacuate our pigs to the garage which has a concrete floor (when my NDN tree branch was hanging in the storms last year, or when their roofing cover got damaged a couple of years back)

We put an oilcloth tablecover (old one) or a tarpaulin on the floor and a big piece of carpet offcut. Then cardboard ,paper and hay, in their rabbit run.
Roll up the newspaper and hay and replace as needed.

Snugglesafe pads are nice (they microwave and hold the heat, supposedly for 10 hours but not in my experience) . I took the fleece cover off (it got peed too much) and wrap it in newspaper. Give it a wipedown to clean.

Thanks 70, good idea about the carpet off cut. The greenhouse isn't damp so that should be fine. They're still outside at the mo and I'm giving them extra hay and a good cardboard liner in their hutch. Plus covering with tarp to keep the wind off them.
