She's obsessed with sitting on shoulders! Thinks she's a blooming rat Grin

Guinea-pigs aspire to great things - she thinks she's a parrot.
Parrots are as intelligent as a 2yo child Wink

D'you really think that cute chatter of teeth and purring is sweet nothings? She's swearing her %!!99%$* head off Grin

Awww, my piggy does that too, always heads straight for my left shoulder and snuggles into my neck.

It's very cute but she can be a bit of a chatterbox so it's a pita if I'm watching telly Smile !

YY to the left shoulder - is it like babies who want to be near the sound of your heart?

When we had GP1 and GP2 , GP2 was 'officially' DS pig but IRL, he was mine.
I used to put him on my left shoulder and hold his rump and back. If I tried to put GP1 on my right shoulder he'd duck under my chin and try to squabble with poor little GP2 Shock

"Oi - I'm Alpha Pig , I go on the left , not the 'guest shoulder' . Move"

"But it's my Mum, so it's MY shoulder"

All those sharp teeth near my throat was a bit Shock

lol

yes very familiar. it is 'the special' place for 'the favourite'. they show off to the others when they get there

Grin I had 10yo DD sitting on my left the other evening so she & Luna were fighting for the shoulder spot!

When we cuddle the hogs ( three laps, DS isn't featured in Pig cuddling) whoever cuddles DH looks very smug.

GP5 (the little girl) sits like a meercat.
GP3 (boar) sits like that scene in the Lion King where he stretches over the cliff
GP4 (cuddly sow) just snuggles into his arm and looks "Nerr. I'm Queen" Grin

In our house it's the one who gets to sit with Current Bun who's superior. They don't get together much - it's been months since they last met. Last night we were cuddling the pigs in Current Buns room and DD let Smooth escape. Next thing he's wriggled his way into Buns hay box and managed to squeeze in next to him. He looked very pleased with himself. Current bun was less happy Confused.

What what 70, you have a GP5 and 4 now? when did this happen!

(I'm quirrelquarrel, you probably won't remember me but I always like your GP posts)

My silver boar used to shove his friend out from under my shoulder. He was like a strong little slippery fish and when he got where he wanted he would stretch out all contentedly with his eyes half shut.
God I do miss him!

velour - our GP1 (from our original boar pair) died in July . I knew he was winding down, he was losing weight and though he was eating and lively , he had that 'look' to him that animals get.
He went quietly and peaceful in the Pighouse.

Our GP3 was a year old and we debated whether to match up a boar piglet but GP3 is quite predatory (ie kept bonking GP1, who wasn't bothered, he gave him a withering look and walked away)

So we got two feisty sows from the same Rescue as GP3 came from. Kept them in chattering distance while we had GP3 neutered and through his waiting time. Then bonded them.

They are all about the same age. Both sows had just been weaned away from their babies (so looking for some peace and quiet Grin )
And needless to say - they rule the roost.
There's a couple of threads about them in July/August
