How long do pets at home guarantee their animals for?

I bought two guinea pigs on 26th aug and found a massive lump on one yesterday. Big abcess which so far has cost me £40 and we've got to be back at the vets next week. I have a receipt which said if pet becomes ill after buying to ring pets at home and I remember the sales assistant said something about them paying for any vet bills if they became sick soon after buying.

If I have to pay it myself then fair enough but if I can get them to pay then its worth a try? I reckon the abcess must have been building up when I got them because it was huge, golf ball size.

Viva which piggie has the abcess ? (You got one with a query about their eyes didn't you? )

I did read somewhere it was 24 hours they covered you for but don't quote me on that.

You could try asking them (depends on if they were only referring to the pigs eyes though)
Where it the lump? D'you think it was a bite (either from cagemate or something flying and stinging)

No it was the other one!

Vet thinks it was from a bite/scratch.

I guess maybe two weeks is too long then. Never mind. I took the one with the funny eye for a check up and the vet reckoned it was fine. Now this. I've spent more at the vets for them than they cost to buy.

Abcess was bottom of neck (underneath). I asked if it was related to teeth but vet said no, that it was too low down. The amount of gunk was unreal.

I know someone whose rabbit died after a few days, she went in to complain and the assistant asked to see it! Didn't seem to understand why they had buried it.

Our p@h offer a free vet health check in the first 4 weeks of getting new gps.

worth trying
the abcess could have developed quickly though. they are a bit prone to infected scratches etc

Took our gp to p@h today. Anything they need is covered within 4 weeks of purchase providing you gave the receipt. (I'd say your gp had it when you got him though).
