Does anyone have a giant rabbit?

Hi all
I've moved into a cottage with a large 60ft long garden and would love to get a pet rabbit.
Are giant rabbits good pets to have? We have three children- 11,10 and 2 and a dog (Alsation x whippet).
Do you house yours inside or outside?
How much food realistically do they eat?

With the dog you have I would not get a rabbit - it would be too stressful making sure they were kept completely apart and could potentially end in disaster. It may also be stressful for your dog (not being allowed to go everywhere it normally goes and also not being able to get at the tasty rabbit treat it can smell) and the rabbit (they can literally be scared to death).

Incidentally, rabbits are not particularly cuddly animals and really like to be left alone mainly but they will accept strokes if they're in the mood.
