Can guinea pigs eat broad beans pods?

From what I've read it seems like the pods are ok for them but the beans themselves are poisonous - is that right??

Been googling and I can't find anything about broad beans but mangetout, sugar snaps and peas are all safe. You could try a little bit.

Thanks so much Fernie! In the end I offered them, but the GPs were not impressed or tempted, so back to carrot tops it is! Shame, as I have a whole bunch of broad bean pods...

Mine will eat mange tout or the thin green beans.
Possibly broad bean pods might be a bit coarse.
I would be wary of peas in case they scoffed them whole and choked.( They are greedy blighters Grin )

I do buy pea shoots for mine (Sainsburys £1 a bag ) just a few, sprinkled on their food .They hoover them
