Are my guinea pigs too warm??

I have two gorgeous girls, 14 weeks and 10 weeks and for the last two days, which have been the warmest here, maybe 25 degrees, I've come home from work to find them both under the hay and they are spending a lot of time under hay in an evening.

They are indoor piggies and I do ask ds1 to open all the windows in the house when he gets in from school but this doesn't always happen!

We've only had the youngest gp a week, so in assuming them both being under hay is to do with the heat and not them being unhappy? Gp1 has shown gp2 who is in charge and they seemed quite settled after a couple of days.

They have fresh water daily and are still eating but we've never kept guinea pigs before so I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance!

My older boy was under the hay last week (on one of the hottest days) silly piggie
I went to buy hay- there were 3 baby pigs, one was under hay.
They like to hide themselves, do they have boxes or tunnels?

I blotted my copybook with the boars by putting their hay in a rack and giving them shredded paper to sleep in. It still allows them to burrow but isn't as insulating as hay. (Though I think they like to sit in their hay and scoff without moving)

Check their ears, if they're warm , you can feel it there.

Thank you for replying. They have some tunnels that they tend to chase each other round and round under and then sleep under them.
Gp1 is on my knee at moment, tho she won't be for much longer if she keeps trying to eat the work papers I'm trying to read!!
But I've just felt her ears, much to her disgust, and they feel a little warm but I wouldn't say overly so. I'll keep an eye tho.

They weren't taking hay from the rack we had seemed happy with the amount I was putting directly into the cage so I gave up with the rack.

Will persist in reminding everyone else in the house about opening windows too!
