Guinea pig trouble

Our lovely Guinea pig Lola has been 'dropped then chased round garden to try and catch her' by the cleaners 4 yo dd . Now she's making Grunty noises constantly and won't eat.
What can we do?
No obvious physical injury, but my dd is understandably very worried

Keep the guinea pig calm and in a small dark box with hay.
Let her breathing settle down, her heart rate, See if she eat.
Then gently try all her limbs, stroke her sides. See if she squeals at all if you touch a sore bit.
Check her teeth see if she's broken any.

It is - a couple of years back our GP1 jumped out of my arms from shoulder height onto the wooden floor. I was slightly stooped so he didn't go the full drop of my height but high enough. I remember seeing his little back legs as he landed.

I had to get DD and DS to school so I scooped him up, got DH to help me check him. His breathing was raspy and fast .
I put him in the soft cat bed that they had in his side of the indoor cage with his brother side-by-siding.
He was sort of whistling when I got back from school and gradually calmed down (I was frantically "Vet: Yes or No" Would it traumatise him too much.

We were lucky. He lost one of his nine lives.
I's like to say he learned his lesson but he's jumped twice from DD. Once onto the carpeted roof of the Haybox and once onto a huge pack of Costco toilet rolls.

On a positive note though, if Lola was able to be chased round, it's unlikely (but not 100% certain) that she's broken anything.

Keep an eye on her obviously if she deteriorates then you'd need to decide what next ( SOS vet)

They do suffer stress but hopefully she'll be uninjured .

We're waiting for the on call vet
She's still moaning and not moving limbs so glad we're seeing him.

Her pain is round the hip/sacral area so she's had painkillers and has to stay in her carry case over night. Will see tomorrow how she is.
Won't be putting her through trauma of anaesthetic or surgery so fingers crossed she is better tomo.

oh no poor guinea hope she's OK

Hope she's okay - a good rest and some quiet will hopefully do the trick. My boys send her parsley hugs and will keep their paws crossed.

One of DD's friends manhandled our guinea. The next day she was puffed up, looking sad, not eating, we took her to the vet, she had an injection and a syringe of some green muck rescue treatment and the next day was back to normal

How is Lola this morning?
What did your vet say? Did they give her any pain relief/anti-inflammatories?
We put GP1 on the ramp the next day and he tottered down in the direction of food, so his food motivation was strong, but it took him a while to recover. Though GP1 chose to jump from my shoulder, daft git, your guinea-pig didn't have the choice option so it would be a huge shock for her to be dropped then chased

(I'd be thinking evil thoughts about the 4yo who dropped her and chased her and would ban her from stepping within a 100yd perimeter of the guinea)

From experience it's always other people's kids you have to watch around your guineas. In his young days a 9yo had to be stopped from sending Todd (aka Old Boy) head first down the slide .

And when he was 5 another girl took him on the trampoline. He had more sense than to be bounced and jumped out of her arms into a huge Hosta plant completely unscathed

Has eaten some peppers and is on cage rest for a few days to recover.
Very with neighbour though. Hasn't had the decency to ask how pig is!
